Varaha is the third avatar of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism, taking the form of a wild boar. In this incarnation, Vishnu manifests to rescue Bhudevi (Goddess Earth) from the depths of the cosmic ocean, where she was hidden by the demon Hiranyaksha.
Narrative & Significance
The Conflict: The asura Hiranyaksha dragged the Earth to the bottom of the cosmic ocean (Garbhodaka Ocean).
The Divine Rescue: Lord Vishnu assumed the form of a giant boar, dove into the cosmic waters, defeated Hiranyaksha in a duel lasting a thousand years, and lifted the Earth back to safety using his tusks.
